Why won’t the help of Allah come?
Why won’t the help of Allah come?
Mariyam (Salaamun ‘alaihaa) could have asked the same question, as she was carrying a baby in her womb, because of whom her reputation would be falsely tarnished. Yusuf (AS) could have asked the same question, when he was thrown into a well, sold as a slave and had to spend almost a decade in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Ya’qub (AS) could have asked the same question, when he cried for his long lost son to the point he lost his eyesight. Muhammad (SAW) could have asked the same question, when he and his companions were being tortured for years just because of their faith.
So the next time your heart wonders about the help of Allah, my dear brothers and sisters, remember these stories of the people from our past. And it’s not like they weren’t in pain just because they were Prophets or people who were shown miracles like Mariyam (Salaamun ‘alaihaa). They felt pain too. They shed tears too. They were in need of desperate help too. But do you know what we learn from all of their stories? Not just about their faith in Allah in tough times. But also about Allah’s greater plan for us.
Yes….Mariyam (Salaamun ‘alaihaa) went through that pain. But because of that baby who was her biggest worry, her status rose like no other. And Allah is the One Who restored her reputation even in His final Book (the Quran) so that people who live until the Day of Judgement would know that she was innocent and other people could find inspiration from her story. Yes, Yusuf (AS) went through some very tough times. But because he was in jail for 10 years or so, he came into contact with the king and was able to save an entire nation from starving to death. Yes, Ya’qub (AS) had cried for that long but because of the story he lived through, many other fathers will know the wisdom of beautiful patience. Yes, Muhammad (SAW) and his companions were tortured and weakened. But it was because of that torture that they were able to show ultimate patience which in turn bent the hearts of many towards Islam.
So if you are suffering today, always remember that you may be part of a bigger plan. Perhaps this test is making you stronger for something bigger you have to face in the future. Perhaps through this test, you will be able to help many others. Perhaps this test you are going through may be an inspiring lesson for many others. And whether that happens or not, Allah is still rewarding you for every bit of pain you go through.
May Allah make us of those who stay strong in our faith in Him, even when we go through the toughest of tests. Ameen!
